Comparison between Genetic Algorithm and Response Surface Methodology in PCTIG Welding Optimization

with 0 Comment
  • Pulsed Current Tungsten Inert Gas(PCTIG) Welding is an arc welding process that uses a non consumable tungsten electrode to make the weld. The Effect of weld strength is going to be decided by input process parameters. The General input process parameters are peak current, base current ,pulse frequency, pulse on time ,post flow, arc gap, welding speed ,cleaning percentage and wire feed.
  • In this present work the aluminum AA 6063 Alloy plates are welded by TIG welding process and the welded joint strength are going to be avaluated. The selected input parameters are peak current, base current ,pulse frequency and post flow. The Range of input process parameter values are decided by conducting screening experiments.Based on the experimental results,a Generic Algorithm is developed to optimize the input process parameters. The generic algorithm results are compared with response surface methodology results.
